The next concert in the Gibraltar Philharmonic Society’s current season will be the Barclays Bank Concert -“The World of Ballet” to be held in St Michael’s Cave on Monday the 21st of this month.

The Ukrainian National Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Maestro Karel Mark Chichon, will be performing for first time on the Rock. The first half of the concert will be Tchaikovsky’s violin concerto in D Major, Opus 35, with soloist Tamas Andras. The second half will be devoted to ballet music and include excerpts from, Tchaikovsky’s Romeo and Juliet and the Nutcracker Suite. Senior dancers from the Gibraltar Academy of Dance, under the direction of Paulette Finlayson, will perform during The Nutcracker Suite.

Tickets for “The World of Ballet” will go on sale on Wednesday the 9th, priced £12, which will include a bus shuttle service to and from the Cave. A limited number of tickets will be on sale at Solomon Levy Estate Agents and The House of Sacarello, and anyone wishing to attend the concert is advised to buy their tickets as soon as possible.
