Berlin Philharmonic Soloists’ Series
The Gibraltar Philharmonic Society in association with Turicum Private Bank are presenting “The Berlin Philharmonic Soloists’ Series” featuring oboist Albrecht Mayer and piano accompanist Alexander Schmalcz.
The recital will be held on Thursday 31 January at The Convent Ballroom commencing at 8:30pm. The repertoire will include works by Nielsen, Saint-Saens, Pierne, Schumann and Yvon.
The Society’s Artistic Director, Karel Mark Chichon commented that "Over several years, we had the Vienna Soloists’ Series but this year we’ve “moved” to the Berlin Philharmonic Soloists’s Series - we are delighted to have been able to collaborate with soloists from such eminent orchestras and Mr Mayer is probably the best oboist in the world so it is a real honour to have him perform in Gibraltar – this recital is one not to be missed”
Tickets priced at 20 pounds each are now available from The House of Sacarello in Irish Town with Credit/debit card purchases also available by phoning the Society on 72134. A limited number of tickets are also available to Senior Citizens at a reduced price via The John Mackintosh Hall at 308 Main Street.
The Society would like to inform and clarify to patrons that tickets will no longer be sold via Solomon Levy Estate Agents and the Society take this opportunity to thank Mr Solomon Levy for the many years he has supported the Society by providing this service since the Society’s inception almost 10 years ago.
