The Gibraltar Philharmonic Society announces that it has postponed the Organ Recital by Karel Chichon to be held at the Cathedral of St Mary the Crowned on Thursday the 27th of this month. The postponement, which has been due to unforeseen circumstances, means that the next concert organised by the Gibraltar Philharmonic Society, as part of its 1999/2000 programme, will be “The World of Ballet” to be held in St Michael’s Cave on Monday the 21st of February.
The Ukrainian National Symphony Orchestra will be paying its first visit to the Rock for “The World of Ballet” concert, which will include excerpts from, Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker Suite and Swan Lake. The Nutcracker Suite will feature dancers from the Gibraltar Academy of Dance who will perform for the first time to a full “live” orchestra.
Tickets for “The World of Ballet” will go on sale in a few weeks time priced £12 and will include a bus shuttle service to and from the Cave.
The Gibraltar Philharmonic Society will reschedule the Organ Recital by Karel Chichon for later in the year.
