National Week Concert with Beethoven Festival at St Michael’s Cave

The Gibraltar Philharmonic Society presents the ever popular annual National Week Concert arranged on behalf of the Government of Gibraltar at St Michael's Cave commencing at 9:00pm on Sunday the 31st August 2008.

The concert will feature Welsh pianist Mr Llyr Williams as well as local conductor Karel Mark Chichon with the South London Philharmonic Orchestra. The Beethoven Festival will feature the Piano Concerto No 4 and Symphony No 5 as the principal works to be performed.

A society spokesman said; “We are very pleased to be able to bring to Gibraltar the very talented pianist Mr Llyr Williams as well as the ever popular Karel Chichon and of course the South London Philharmonic Orchestra for what marks the beginning of our 2008-09 Season - our 10th Anniversary - and how best to do it but with one of the greatest and most influential composers of all time; Beethoven...”

Tickets priced at 14 pounds each are now available from The House of Sacarello in Irish Town and The Silver Shop at 275 Main Street. Credit/debit card purchase is also available by phoning the Society on 20072134. A limited number of tickets are also available to Senior Citizens at a reduced price via The John Mackintosh Hall at 308 Main Street.

The price includes a return shuttle service departing from Ince’s Hall from 8.00 pm.
