The Gibraltar Philharmonic Society’s next concert is titled "Classics for Pleasure". It will feature the National Symphony Orchestra of Latvia, conducted by Terje Mikkelsen.
"Clasics for Pleasure" will include Leonard Berntein's Overture to Candide, Tchaikovsky's 5th Symphony and Rachmaninov’s Piano Concerto No 3 with soloist Cristofer Griorgilli from Italy.
This concert, which features two great works by Russian composers and one by a modern American composer, will be held in St Michael’s Cave on the 26th of October. Although there is still a month to go for the concert, tickets are on sale at Solomon Levy Estate Agents, Convent Place, and the House of Sacarello, in Irish Town. Priced at £12, the ticket include a bus shuttle service to and from the Cave.

Terje Mikkelsen was conductor of the National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine from 1989 to 1995, and was main guest conductor of the National Symphony Orchestra from Lithuania at the same time. He regularly conducts the St. Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra and the Moscow Radio Orchestra.
