Faure Requiem
The Gibraltar Philharmonic Society is proud to present their Easter Concert, which will be held on Thursday 05 April at the Cathedral of The Holy Trinity commencing at 8.30pm. It will feature Faure: Requiem, considered one of the best loved choral masterpieces. Conductor Maestro Karel Mark Chichon will be at the helm of the acclaimed European Sinfonietta (UK) and the Gibraltar Festival Chorus together with 20 members of the renowned "Chorus of the Teatro Maestranza" of Seville.
A spokesman for the Society stated " we feel it is very important to cater for the local community as actively as possible. Therefore, by holding this event very close to Holy Week , we feel we are contributing to Easter in Gibraltar via the powerful and spiritual music of Faure: Requiem".
Priced at £15, tickets are available from Solomon Levy Estate Agents and the House of Sacarello. Even though more than 250 tickets have been made available for the general public, the Easter Concert is a very popular event and tickets are usually in great demand. Patrons are therefore strongly advised to book early so as to avoid disappointment.
